Dr. Hue H. Luu is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the
Section of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at
the University of Chicago. He is also Associate Director of the
Molecular Oncology
Laboratory.
Clinical Interests:
Dr. Luu's clinical interests and expertise are in orthopaedic
oncology and joint replacement surgery. He is part of a
multidisciplinary team of physicians at the University of
Chicago, which includes adult and pediatric oncologists,
radiologists, radiation oncologists, plastic surgeons, and
pathologists, who offer comprehensive care for our patients.

Academic Interests:
Dr. Luu is interested in understanding the fundamental
mechanisms regulating bone biology and bone regeneration. Dr.
Luu is interested in using advances in gene therapy to study
applications of bone biology in fracture care, osteolysis in
total joint replacement patients, and bone regeneration. He is
also interested in investigating genes that control cancer
metastasis with the ultimate goals of identifying new diagnostic
and therapeutic approaches in treating patients with bone
cancers and other cancers that have the potential to spread to
other sites of disease.
